What's your shipping policy?

We offer USPS shipping rates calculated in real time. Here's the breakdown of shipping times to most locations:

  • Standard Post is the slowest option and will arrive in about 4-8 days.
  • First Class usually arrives in 2-3 days.
  • Priority arrives in 2-3 days for sure.
  • Express is typically overnight but again, this will depend on your location.

For orders placed Monday thru Friday, we strive to ship teas out the next business day. We are a small team though, so please keep that in mind and know that we will always process orders with extra love and care. We'll notify you by email once your order has shipped.

What's your return policy?

Ultimately, we want you to be happy with your tea and share it with your friends. If you aren’t happy, we want to know. If you have already opened your tea, we can’t offer you an exchange or refund, but we still want to know what you didn’t like, so please contact us at the email below.

If your tea is unopened and you contact us within 7 days of receiving it we will gladly exchange it or issue a refund. (Please note that shipping charges are non-refundable.) Here’s what you should do:

1. Contact us at blackbirdteaco@gmail.com, giving the reason for the return in detail, and please include your order number.

2. Pack the tea in the original packaging, if possible.

3. Ship your return order back to us using an insured and traceable method for your protection. We can’t be responsible for return orders damaged or lost along the way.

How do I check the status of my order?

Can I change my order? 

Yep, as long as your order hasn’t shipped you can make changes by emailing us at blackbirdteaco@gmail.com.

What credit cards do you accept? 

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Do I have to pay sales tax? 

No. Washington does not require sales tax to be collected on loose leaf tea - since we are selling you loose leaf packaged tea, not a hot cup of tea, sales tax isn't required. 

What’s your privacy policy? 

We collect only the information needed to complete your order or contact you regarding its status. We will never sell or share your information with anyone.

Is your site secure? 

Absolutely! Our shop is powered with the help of Shopify, which gives us an SSL certificate through GeoTrust.

Is your tea organic? 

All of our teas are made with organic ingredients, many of them entirely. The ingredients for each blend are clearly listed on their respective pages.

Why is loose leaf better than bagged tea? 

Loose leaf teas are more flavorful, richer, and healthier, all for pretty much the same reason: they contain whole ingredients. Tea bags typically contain the pieces and dregs of what were once whole leaves, whereas loose leaf tea is complete in all its glory.

Can I do gift purchases?
